A former Space City Intermediate School math teacher is accused of engaging in sexual relationships with several of her students. Samantha Ashley McFerrin, 29, of League City, was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 and sexual assault of a child between ages 14 and 17 and was jailed Tuesday in Harris County, according to court records. McFerrin, who taught eighth grade, resigned during an investigation into allegations against her, Clear Creek Independent School District Superintendent Greg Smith said. Campus administrators learned about a possible inappropriate relationship Feb. A student told campus officials that a female classmate had told him that another boy had bragged about having sex with McFerrin, according to a probable cause affidavit. School officials interviewed a female student Feb. The girl said McFerrin would lie to her husband about a family commitment and instead would meet with a student for sex in her truck, according to the affidavit. That student, who was 14, later claimed he and McFerrin had become friends because she let students she liked sit behind her desk to do school work, according to the affidavit.

By Joshua Rhett Miller. March 5, pm Updated March 5, pm. A married, former Michigan high school teacher charged with having sex with two students — and plying one with drugs — has been sentenced to more than four years in prison, according to reports. Kathryn Marie Houghtaling, a year-old special education teacher who worked at Rochester High School, will spend at least 51 months behind bars after pleading no contest to having sex with two students who were 16 and 17 during the December encounters, the Oakland Press reports. The former first-year teacher pleaded no contest in late January, just two days before she was set to go to trial. The teen was ultimately forced to transfer to another school due to avoid being mocked by fellow students about his connection to Houghtaling, his uncle said. None of the sexual encounters occurred on school grounds, but sources told WDIV that Houghtaling had sex with the victims at an apartment, as well as in a car while other students watched. Houghtaling, of Sterling Heights, got emotional in court while apologizing for her actions, according to the station.
Trading sex presents many harms to young people. This is likely an underestimate because the MSS is completed by students enrolled in school. It does not include youth who were not in school on the day of the survey or who do not attend school. We used this formula 1. Sexual exploitation is a public health issue that harms individuals, communities, and populations across the state. The Minnesota Department of Health Safe Harbor program receives state and federal funds to support a comprehensive response through regional navigators, services providers, and tribal governments. In addition to services, training, and protocol development, the Safe Harbor system supports specialized housing, outreach, and investigations through partnership with public health, human services, and public safety. Students of all gender identities reported trading sex. For example, among transgender students, 5. Cisgender is a term for those whose gender identity aligns with their birth-assigned sex.
